1990 One of Sweden’s first environmental competence directories
  Environmental technology goes on show for the first time at the biannual Pollutec trade fair in Lyons – one of Europe’s biggest.
   
1991 BRG is one of the founders of TRUST – cooperation focusing on the environment, safety, and logistics between Göteborg, the Volvo companies, and the National Road Administration.
   
1998 Bioenergi i Väst starts up in collaboration with the cities of Trollhättan and Borås – was absorbed into Biogas Väst in 2000.
   
1999 The Environment & Bioenergy project is started
   
2001 Biogas Väst is started
  Growth 2000 begins cooperation with Miljöbron at Göteborg University
  Inception of Business-driven Environmental Development
  Environmental network for companies in the Göteborg region established
  BRG’s car pool – among the first in Göteborg

The Business-driven Environment project has an annual budget of approx. 12 million SEK and has 14 members, including consultants. The aim is to contribute to increased growth in the Cleantech sector The project runs 3 sub-projects: Biogas Väst, Cluster and Ecoex. The intention is to create business opportunities, principally for small and medium-sized companies, and contribute to sustainable growth.

Examples of results


- Through Biogas Väst, emissions of greenhouse gases are now falling by the equivalent of 20,000 tons a year

- Investments in the production, distribution, and use of biogas as automotive fuel now stand at approx 2.6 million SEK

- Biogas companies in western Sweden growing by 25-60%

- Ecoex Cleantech export business worth approx. 60 million SEK

- Growth reported at 90% of the environmental technology companies studied in Western Sweden

- HA oils in vehicle tires prohibited in the EU from 2010

- Investments in environment-adapted alternatives to HA oils total 4 billion SEK
