Since september of 2008, Beata Ferenc has been working hard with launching TEAMS Sustainability Reporting — which is Emisoft´s Sustainability Accouting System — and she talks passionate about the advantages with this system. Her standpoint is that it should be as given to use TEAMS as it is to use a regular economy — and business system. - There are many companies that wish to profile themselves as environment-friendly. Since credibility is a hot potato in these days, you have to be able to prove what you are claiming. And how can you do so if you are just using Excel documents or home-made systems without the possibility to trace data? TEAMS, on the other hand, can deliver facts which are easy to review and revise. This generates a quality sign, Beata explains.
For those who are interested in doing a truthful and correct environmental accounting which can be studied and revised, TEAMS is an important helping tool for this. A person who will do complex calculations on his own risks to commit mistakes which demands extra hours of work. In TEAMS, the companies register only the environmental data of relevance and then the system handles the rest. For example, it can be data concerning calculations on the emissions of air, water, soil which can be compared to the limitations for emission rights or to control the chemical — and waste handling. In addition, if you add the economical and social parameters, you have a complete CSR — Accounting System.
- It is very useful for large companies operating worldwide, for example. Everyone can register his or her information and measure how the work looks like in other parts of the world, on the basis of the same value system.
Emisoft´s system TEAMS Sustainability Reporting is used in 120 countries today. The company has four offices in Norway and the office in Göteborg ,Sweden , is the first office to open outside Norway. The Norwegian C.E.O. Rune Neteland tells about why the chose Göteborg:
- Primarily, the decision was based on the density of the industry on the west coast of Sweden. Oil, gas, and processing industry are our important customers. Another reason for choosing Göteborg was that our biggest customer on the market, Borealis, has its head office in Stenungsund outside Göteborg. Also generally speaking, The Göteborg Region invests heavily in different environmental projects which suit the work of Emisoft. The company´s next goal is to start writing contracts with customers this fall and by the end of this year, the Göteborg office will have 8 employees.
However, establishing in Sweden hasn't always been easy for Emisoft.
- To begin with, we probably acted like every Norwegian does and thought that it would be easy to establish without any assistant but soon we understood that this wasn't the case. We contacted Business Region Göteborg, BRG, and they have been a great support, Rune Neteland says.
Beata Ferenc confirms his story and smiles:
- Yes, he stepped on some mines initially. Many things are similar in Norway and Sweden but this also makes it harder to tell what differs. We have received many helpful advices from BRG and the help for contacting different types of networks which of course makes it easier to establish.
After understanding the Swedish national law, Swedish pay roll system and how an "AB" is formed, Emisoft is now ready for Sweden. Both Rune Neteland and Beata Ferenc are ready to run both fast and far to reach their goals.
- We are much alike in that sense, Rune and I. I believe that is why it works out great, Beata Ferenc concludes.
