Of course, companies do not establish operations here before determining that there is a customer base existing. Göteborg provides many foreign companies with a proximity to major customers. Many foreign-owned companies in the region have also looked at Stockholm as a potential location, but have chosen the Göteborg Region because they see that the rent levels are relatively inexpensive in Göteborg and that the market prices are lower than in Stockholm.
In addition, there are more suitable facilities available in the Göteborg area than in the capital of Sweden.
Several foreign-owned companies also feel that Göteborg has the character of a small town despite its big city amenities. They have good contact with local organizations such as Business Region Göteborg that provide necessary assistance during the establishment process.
