The purpose of the collaboration is to use closer links between the Öresund region and the Göte-borg-Oslo region as well as Halland to cre-ate a tightly knit growth region in south-western Scandinavia with its seven million inhabitants and a prominent place in Eu-rope.Collaborative projects are currently underway within the areas infrastructure, biomedicine, culture and environmental technology export. The transport corridor between Oslo, Göteborg, Copenhagen and Berlin/Ham-burg has always been a central link between Scandinavia and continental Europe. Despite major investments, for example the Öresund Bridge, bottlenecks continue to limit communications.
This is why the Scandinavian Arena initiated a project to identify solutions that make traffic and transports within the corridor more efficient and sustainable for the longterm and to propose infrastructural development that supports the expansion of the region.
The project is financed using funds from the European Commission. The collaboration within culture and environmental technology is being built up.
