Biogas Cities is a private and public sector co-operative project that was instigated to demonstrate how the community, government and industry can work together to make the transition to renewable fuels a reality.

Through this project foreign cities and regions are invited to learn more about biomethane. During a visit to West Sweden you can see biogas production and distribution facilities as well as discuss political and commercial strategies.

The project is driven by several partners including:

• City of Göteborg and the Traffic and Public Transport Committee - A municipal department responsible for local incentives and environmental programmes.
• Business Region Göteborg
• Västra Götaland Region
• Volvo Group - Manufacturer of methane powered buses and other heavy transport solutions.
• Volvo Car Corporation - Car manufacturer with one of the market´s broadest offerings of methane-powered Bi-Fuel cars.
