BiogasMax -

a EU-financed project   


Göteborg is participating in BiogasMax since January 2006. BiogasMax is a EU-financed project, which involves six cities in Europe. The aim for the project is to develop and strengthen the branch and also to increase the use of biomethane for vehicles during a four-year period.

The project started in January 2006 and Business Region Göteborg (BRG)/Biogas West participates as one party. The project is within the EU´s sixth frame programme for "Sustainable energysystems". It´s aim is to create an European cooperation and a demonstration of biomethane as a vehicle fuel.

BiogasMax is an integrated project, which means that no less than 30 parties from 8 European countries participates. Every city has chosen their own partner for cooperation. Participants within the Göteborg group are Göteborg Energi, FordonsGas Sverige, the municipality of Falköping and Biogas West.
BiogasMax is the first and only environmental project at a European level that raises biomethane as a fuel for vehicles. An area that is not yet developed in Europe.
